JW Anderson for Versus

Taking over the helm from king of East London cool Christopher Kane, JW Anderson was in many ways surprising choice for Versus. Whilst possessing all the qualities the Versace diffusion line proclaims of itself (young, edgy, rebellious), the Derry-born designer is a little more masculine, minimal and macabre than Donatella’s usual picks for the Versace empire. But perhaps that’s the key to the line’s success. “I realised he could do something amazing with me because he is not me at all,” she recently told reporters. She was right. It’s a beautiful fusion.
